Save the date…

Yesterday, or last night to be more precise, something amazing happened. I received a text message from my childhood best friend! What a pleasant surprise that was….. It’s amazing how many people come out of the woodwork to wish you well when you are going through something difficult. And how ironic is it that she is partway through her masters of nursing and works at an oncology center? Super cool.

On another note, I never thought I’d be so happy to see Monday roll around. I wasn’t exactly holding my breath to get a phone call from the hospital, considering the nurse had told me it might take up to two weeks to hear from them. Much to my surprise, they called just before 2PM. I have to get blood work tomorrow morning (thanks to a very good, one of our bests, who is taking me because Frank works tomorrow and Im still not permitted to drive). I also have a needle biopsy scheduled for thursday morning at 7:30. I’m going to ask them to give me the highest allowable dose of Ativan. To say I’m nervous is putting it lightly.

I wish I had appointments every day. I know that must sound like such an odd thing to say, but these appointments make me feel like I’m actually doing something, getting closer to an answer, rather than sitting around and waiting. Have I mentioned how much I hate waiting???

Anybody have any suggestion on how I can kill time on my appointmentless Wednesday?

Tina

P.S: If I don’t write a blog post on Thursday it’s because they really did give me the highest allowable dose of Ativan and I spend the rest of the day in bed. That doesn’t sound too bad.

Tina, The biobsy hurts while you’re getting it done but not really after. I hope that makes you feel a little better. I managed sans pain killers. I hope you’re not in too much discomfort or pain. I wish this were me in your place.
